APRS on VHF

In Victoria both 144.900MHz & 145.175MHz are used for the APRS network.

Work is under way to change all of Victoria's APRS RF Network to 145.175Mhz. If you have trouble receiving APRS on 144.900MHz try switching to 145.175MHz.

Most of Southern areas of the state are now on 145.175MHz.

See the digipeater path recommendations for suggestions on setting your APRS packet path.

Please contact Richard VK3JFK before setting up a WIDE digipeater.

horizontal rule

The national APRS frequency in Australia is 145.175MHz. The US uses a national frequency of 144.390MHz. Any APRS activity on the International Space Station or other APRS satellites generally occurs on 145.825 MHz and 145.800MHz so some stations may wish to operate on both frequencies, and even provide a gateway to 144.900Mhz.
